It’s time for you to compete without the worry of expensive travel!!
The Pandemic of 2020 has opened our eyes to a new type of creativity. We’ve reinvented how we do business and make money on every level. Because we DO NOT GIVE UP… our resilience turned these sour lemons of circumstance into lemonade. With our own unique flavor, Bronner Bros is bringing back The Grab Bag Competition, with a hint of mystery.
Bronner Brothers Presents  The Mystery Grab Bag Competition. This Competition is open to 15 brave and daring stylists. You will be amazed by the creativity and spontaneous actions of these talented leaders. The GRAB BAG concept is designed to display the creativity of salons everywhere across the world. We have limited availability due to the recording platform for virtual presentations. So register before all the spots are taken. 
Do you have what it takes to be bold, unapologetic and introduce a new trend that will surprise the world? If so, you must create from a canvas with only the equipment provided by our Bronner Brothers Team in the mystery box sent to each competitor with unique equipment that MUST be used. The reigns of artistry will be released to all stylists who dare to use their imaginations in these live online presentations. We only have 15 slots for this HOT competition! The deadline for all of the excitement is September 7, 2020, 11:59pm. REGISTER TODAY!!!

MYSTERY GRAB BAG

 

Grab Bag Details: This competition will be filmed via Zoom September 11, 2020. Please review the details in the confirmation email you will receive after registration.

MODEL MUST BE:

Shampooed
Wig-less
Weave-less
Without extensions
Blow dried
Hair combed straight down
Have on a cape
In a Salon chair that swivels

You will have 60 minutes to complete the model using ONLY the products you receive in your bag. An example of what you may receive in your box to be used in the final look of the models hair: (NO OTHER PRODUCTS AND ITEMS CAN BE ADDED) YOU MUST USE EVERYTHING SENT IN THE BOX IN SOME WAY ON THE MODEL IN UNIFORMITY WITH YOUR THEME.

These are only examples:

5 bobby pins

5 hair pins

1 neck strip

1 ribbon

1 bracelet

can of Hair Spray

1 colored eye liner pencil
There will be a number of grab bags with different products and equipment inside. THIS IS ONLY AN EXAMPLE.

RULES & REGULATIONS

  1. After professional status has been proven, Competitors will receive the initial grab box in the mail. You will also receive the box with the mystery ingredients. DO NOT OPEN THE BOX. I REPEAT—-DO NOT OPEN THE BOX. PUT IT AWAY WHERE YOU CAN FIND IT BUT NO ONE ELSE CAN. If the seal is broken you will be disqualified. On the day of the competition, you will open the box during the pre-recorded session for the virtual show (date to be announced). The special seal cannot be broken until you are instructed to do so the countdown time of the Zoom competition. ALL of the contents of the box Must be used during the competition. ALL of it. YOU WILL BE GIVEN an additional challenge to add more mystery to your suspense…Judges know the contents of each box and are watching…
  2. Competitor and model MUST BE AVAILABLE for taping the week of September 11, 2020. It will be via ZOOM. If you and your model are unavailable to tape live on a day during this chosen week, please do not enter this competition.
  3. You will be required to submit before photos of the model. Information will be in the confirmation email you will receive. (Front, Left side, right side and rear)
  4. Competitors may enter only one model. MODELS (of any race, color, nationality or creed.) Models are provided by the competitor. If you have to change models, just be sure to have the new model to fill out all the forms to participate. They can click HERE.
  5. Competitors models  should have chemical and color processes completed, along with nails attire, and makeup done. Model’s hair is to be DRY and combed straight down ready to be cut, styled and/or manipulated.
  6. Competitors MUST provide their own shears (unless provided in the grab box), electricity, and flat irons. If a sponsor is contracted to provide these items, you will be informed by the competition staff. You MUST have these and all needed items at your station for your own assurance of these materials being needed.
  7. There will be a variety of Mystery Grab Bags with different equipment and products. Competition staff and judges will have a record of the contents of each box.
  8. ABSOLUTELY  no weaves, hair extension, or hairpieces can be preinstalled on the model.
  9. Any styling utensils needed other than shears (combs, brushes, clips, bobby/hair pins, duck bills, weave,etc.) will be provided by Bronner Brothers inside the Grab Box.
  10. All competition models must be 18 or older or have the parents of the minor complete the waiver form in the confirmation email in the link question concerning your model.
  11. All models, hair stylists, makeup artists, videographers, fashion coordinators and photographers have to fill out forms and waivers HERE.
  12. Flat irons and curling irons are allowed. 
  13. The use of blow dryers and ceramic ovens are allowed. Please use caution. Bronner Bros is not liable for any injuries from these appliances. 
  14. During the PREP time and video, ABSOLUTELY no persons are allowed in the competition area/video to help. Only the contestant and the model are allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Otherwise points will be deducted.
  15. Competitors have 60 minutes on camera total to execute the sewing technique, cut, & style.
  16. If bonding glue is provided with the grab box, it can be used, otherwise any and all hair additions will be installed with the braiding method, thread and a weave needle.
  17. Login with model dressed, makeup and accessories done before arrival. No dressing time will be provided.
  18. Please be aware that entertainment in the background is prohibited and will interfere in the execution of your style. No other individuals can assist you in completing this hair style. 
  19. Entrants must have a stable WiFi connection.
  20. The Sponsors reserve the right to cancel or limit the number of competitors. There MUST be a minimum of 10 contestants 24 hours before the start of the competition for the competition to take place. When less than 10 competitors have entered, Bronner Bros. reserves the right to Cancel the Competition and issue refunds to those that are registered.
  21. Styling technique is optional based on the competitor’s creativity.
  22. After time has been called, there can be no additions or ornamentation added to the head after style is completed or points will be deducted.

You will need to follow these guidelines for the zoom video for the competition—
VIDEO RULES AND REQUIREMENTS:

DO’s:

  1. Have a very stable internet connection.
  2. Use your Cell phone (not a laptop, desktop or iPad)
  3. Use a 10” (inch) or larger RING light – white lighting only 
  4. Use a holding tripod- no holding with the hand or propping)
  5. Must be recorded in landscape mode.
  6. Use rear camera
  7. Video done from hip level up next to or behind your styling chair 
    Height of ring camera or tripod stand (35 inches)
    Distance from salon chair (29 inches)
    —Please do a test video to ensure that you and your model are clearly seen from the distance chosen.—

DON’T’s:

  1. DO NOT film with a mirror or window in the frame behind you in the daytime.
    a. If needed, Reposition the camera to be at an angle to not include the mirror (it will reflect the light coming from the window and wash out your video)
  2. If being assisted and not using a stationery tripod, use/purchase a handheld tripod to increase stabilization.
  3. DO NOT film without proper lighting

FYI: In past Beauty Shows, competitors that chose to disregard any rule had significant point reduction and severely decreased their opportunity to win the competition.
