The heavy hitters of the Beauty Industry are making use of the Entire salon to give one client all of their attention in the first ever, Bronner Bros International Virtual Beauty Show “Don’t Rush Challenge”. Salons are to transform 1 model into 5 different looks.  15 salons will compete for cash and prizes.  Three levels of awards will be presented. Many salons need to rekindle the feeling of togetherness. This is geared to improve the overall moral of Salons all over the Nation. This year’s tournament will be conducted virtually due to the corona virus crisis and will be broadcast virtually. Sign your salon up to showcase your skills, creativity and styling knowledge to out shine and be crowned Champion Salon of the “Don’t Rush Challenge”. Spaces are extremely limited! Register today and record your Salon and submit your Don’t Rush video.

The video submission deadline is September 14, 2020, 11:59pm.

The collaboration of competition videos will be showcased on September 27, 2020 at 1:00pm during the virtual beauty show.

This promotional competition is organized by Bronner Bros, Inc (“Promoter”), and is only open to the salons with licensed Cosmetologists in the United States who at the time of entering the Promotional Competition are over the age of 18 (eighteen) years, and are in possession of a valid Cosmetology license except for any person who is a contracted director, model, dancer, partner, employee or agent of, or consultant of the Salon and/or Salon lead stylist.

RULES & REGULATIONS

  1. Each stylist is responsible for the 5 themes of their presentation. It is imperative that the THEME chosen by the Salon is well established throughout each presentation. 
  2. Only Bronner Bros styling products are allowed (unless the competition has a sponsor). If you have your own line of products, please specify this in the registration process.
  3. A before picture of your model must be submitted with your video.
  4. Please use the music for the Don’t Rush Challenge by Young T and Bugsey.
  5. Each salon is responsible for transforming one model into 5 different looks in a complete video submission of 6 minutes.
  6. During the 6 minute video Presentation, the salon MUST have a theme to connect with attire, hair, and overall backdrop. The salon furniture does not have to change. Scene changes can be depicted with attire and hair styles.  Salons must transform 1 model a minimum of 5 times into 5 different looks. Each transformation should be captured and sped up to display in a 1 minute window. The video presentation needs to include a look for any of the following categories to show proficiency in these 5 competitive areas. Please show an array of any 5 of these transformations on your (1) one model.
    1.    Avant Garde 
    2.    Fantasy
    3.    Business Professional 
    4.    Wedding
    5.    Futuristic
    6. Hip Hop
    7. BLM (Black Lives Matter)
    8. Punk Rock
    9. Year Era (‘20’s, 40’s, 50’s…)
      (All 5 looks can be individual year eras)
  7. JUDGING–Judging will be determined in the following areas:
      1. Execution of Theme (30pts) , Creativity (30pts), Hairstyle requirement (25pts), and Teamwork (15pts).
  8. WIGS ARE NOT ALLOWED as a finished product on your model.
  9. All models, hair stylists, fashion coordinators and photographers have to fill out forms and waivers HERE.
  10. ALL JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL. 
  11. Body Art is allowed with ABSOLUTELY NO nudity. ALL GENITALIA MUST BE COVERED with cloth OR RISK BEING DISQUALIFIED.
  12. Contestants are responsible for providing and securing their own styling tools, Bronner Bros products and personal property. Bronner Bros will not be held responsible for injuries and stunts performed during the video.
  13. Any products used while recording that are not Bronner Bros. Brand will have to be covered with Masking tape or duct tape. We request the use of Bronner Bros. Products, but they are not mandatory.
  14. The Competing teams will submit their Don’t Rush videos by the deadline of September 14, 2020, 11:59pm. The video should not exceed 6 minutes in recording time. During this time, the salon team is to style and create one of the before mentioned looks and record the 5 different changes with the use of a styling utensil between each change (face mask, brush, blow dryer, etc). The same model must be used for each style change. The salon is encouraged to change with the model for team spirit and uniformity but it is not required.
  15. OPTIONAL: Salons are permitted to use up to five (5) models during the recording as props or extra displays of styles. These prop models are in addition to the 1 required model (she needs to be the focus).
  16. Optional: The additional (prop) models may be recorded with completely pre-done hairstyles, representative of the Salon’s additional abilities and services offered.(Examples: Barbering, millennial hip hop, weave services, color creativity, futuristic, braiding etc.) You will ONLY be judged on the teamwork and the 1 model chosen for the 5 styles. The additional models display your salons capabilities and provide entertainment.
  17. REMEMBER—There is a restriction for virtual viewing. The number of participants should be limited to keep the focus on the Model being judged (crowding limits the judges ability to see.)
  18. If desired, props can be interchanged during the presentation.
  19. It is the responsibility of the competitor to make sure that your model has completed all waivers and forms to participate in this competition. Please click HERE to access these forms and waivers. 
  20. All competition models must be 18 or older or have the parents of the minor complete the waiver form in the confirmation email in the link question concerning your model.
  21. Horror, grotesque or demonic displays,  and vulgar hand gestures are absolutely banned during presentations, this includes what is shown on screen and sign graphics as well as in costumes and attire.  Showing this on video will result in immediate disqualification and the presentation will be shut down immediately and further videoing ceased. All presentations MUST be done in good taste. IF a small child would have nightmares or learn inappropriate things from actions and dances or be afraid to be near the costume, it is inappropriate for our audience.
  22. NUDITY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED DURING the video PRESENTATION. (Body art is allowed with all genitalia covered with cloth completely.) If there are any questions, please inquire with a photo for approval before the presentation (email competitionsatbb@gmail.com). IF ANY FORM OF NUDITY IS SHOWN DURING PRESENTATION, YOUR PRESENTATION WILL BE SHUT-DOWN….NO EXCEPTIONS WHATSOEVER!!  PLEASE NOTE: THE SALON WILL BE DISQUALIFIED IF THERE IS NUDITY IN THE PRESENTATION. Please inform your participants: If there is a wardrobe malfunction of ANY type that might expose nudity, PLEASE redo the scene to avoid disqualification.
  23. Each Submission/Entry by the Participant must be: the original concept of the Entrant produced and submitted for this Competition, must not have been entered in or won previous video contests or awards, must not have been published previously in any medium; it must not infringe on any party’s intellectual property, including but not limited to copyright, trademark or right of privacy of publicity or any other rights, must be suitable for display and publication on any social media platform worldwide (e.g. it may not be obscene or indecent, including but not limited to nudity or profanity), it must not contain obscene or pornographic material, it must not contain defamatory statements or messages (including but not limited to words, images, or symbols that are widely considered offensive to individuals of a certain race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or socioeconomic or other group), it must not include threats to any person, place, business, group or world peace, it must not invade privacy or other rights of any person, firm or entity, and it must not in any other way violate applicable laws and regulations, must not feature or reference any trademarks, logos (other than Bronner Bros and BBprofessional logos) characters  or any copyrighted works of third parties, and must not feature alcohol products, tobacco products (including cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco, electronic cigarettes, and snuff), contraceptives, feminine hygiene products, fireworks, firearms and ammunition, prescription drugs, illegal drugs and related drug paraphernalia, nutritional supplements, lotteries and gambling (including horse or dog racing and products or services related to gambling).
  24. All entrants and participants are advised that in compliance with the laws of the countries in which the Promoter operates, the Promoter is required to retain certain information (where applicable) of participants, entrants and winners for a period of 3 (three) years (“Personal Information”). Such Personal Information to be retained by the Promoter includes (but is not limited to) the full names, identity numbers, contact details and winners acknowledgement of prize receipts. Accordingly the Promoter will require the winner to complete and submit an information disclosure agreement and indemnification to enable the Promoter to ensure compliance with these rules.  Should any entrant, participant and/or winner refuse or be unable to comply with this rule for any reason, such entrant, participant and/or winner will be deemed to have rejected the Prizes and it shall revert back to the Promoter.
  25. After being announced as the winner, the winner may be required to appear on any form of media and/or social media, for which no fee will be payable, and subject to the provision that the winner may at any time prior to such marketing appearance, decline the request by Bronner Bros to do so.
  26.  Disqualifications: Bronner Bros. reserves the right to disqualify and/or exclude, in our sole and absolute discretion, any individual from a competition for any reason or for no reason at all, including without limitation, violation of any portion of these rules, or tampering with the entry process. Bronner Brothers reserves the right in its sole discretion to change, amend or supplement the Competition Rules for any reason and at any point during preparation and execution of the competition including, without limitation, at any time for the purpose of maintaining the integrity of the competition. or prizes (not already awarded, to any other prize of comparable commercial value) at their own discretion at any time, if deemed necessary in their opinion and/or if circumstances arise outside of their control, without prior notice and no entrant shall have recourse for such cancellation or alteration. Any changes will be posted either within the competition information or these terms and conditions shall become effective immediately after being altered or on such date as may be determined by Promoter. No participant shall have any recourse against Promoter as a result of the alterations of the rules or prizes.
  27. ALL JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL! 

For the video you will submit for the competition—
VIDEO RULES AND REQUIREMENTS:

DO’s:

  1. Have a very stable internet connection.
  2. Use your Cell phone (not a laptop, desktop or iPad)
  3. Use a 10” (inch) or larger RING light – white lighting only (window lighting, in front of you, is allowed but can be a detriment to the video quality if not done properly.)
  4. Use a holding tripod- no holding with the hand or propping)
  5. Must be recorded in landscape.
  6. Use rear camera please. 
  7. Video done from hip level up next to or behind your styling chair 
    Height of ring camera or tripod stand (35 inches)

    Distance from salon chair (29 inches)
    —Please do a test video to ensure that you and your model are clearly seen from the distance chosen.—

DON’T’s:

  1. DO NOT film with a mirror or window in the frame behind you in the daytime.
    a. If needed, Reposition the camera to be at an angle to not include the mirror (it will reflect the light coming from the window and wash out your video)
  2. If being assisted and not using a stationery tripod, use/purchase a handheld tripod to increase stabilization.
  3. DO NOT film without proper lighting
  4. DO NOT whisper- If wearing a mask, speak clearly and loud enough to be heard. When possible, use a family member over 18 that is safe to use as a model, so that you and the model can go without a mask. 

FYI: In past Beauty Shows, competitors that chose to disregard any rule had significant point reduction and severely decreased their opportunity to win the competition.
